Chapter 2

Lucas Blinked. He couldn't tell if he was dead or alive. His whole body acks as he tries to move them. Yep, alive. He pushes himself up very slowly and looked around, then reaches in his pocket and gets the gem out. It shines brilliantly through the sun's ray out a rainbow. Foot steps approaches the door, quickly he placed the gem back into his pocket. A little girl pokes her head through the door and looks over the bed where Lucas was sitting, he caught onto her eyes and she quickly vanishes behind the door. He listens as the footsteps became fainter and fainter, then looks through the open window and see a clear blue sky with a couple Airships flying about.
(Where am I?) He rubs his head as and hears a more footsteps approach the door.
"Ah, your awake I see" smiled Carlos as he walks into the room with the litter girl behind his back. "She’s a bit shy don’t worry about her, come now Angela say hello"
"Umm, hello" Angela replied quietly and hides behind his leg.
"How you feeling?" asked Carlos as he takes a chair and sits by the bed.
"Alright I guess, what happened to that thing?"
"It died of cause, luckily you survive" Angela walks over and touches the bandages on Lucas forehead.
“Does it hurt?” she asked while gently pats the wound.
"Just a little" he replied.
Angela climbed up onto the bed and kisses his forehead, a white light from her hands glows as she touches his heart. Carlos jumped but sits back down again. Lucas feels a warmth inside of him then it sustain, he looks at Angela with amazement and she asked yet again..."Does it hurt now?"
"No it doesn't, thank you little Angela" he smiles at her and watches as she runs around the room laughing and smiling.
"Hey Angie can you go see if Uncle Julian is home yet?" asked Carlos
"Okays" she replied and ran out through the door.
"Hey listen don't tell anyone she can do that okay espellically Julian, he hates magic, you better not tell anyone better promise me!" he glares at Lucas as he moves to lie back down.
"Alright, I promise, ah sorry I feel all sleepy all sudden" he yawns
"Yea, be prepare for tomorrow we going on an important job" he goes and closes the door
"Tomorrow we going to sneak into the castle" he smirks and continues "Apparently there going be a royal family from Knoxville and high emperors and senate would be there" he stops and catches breath "So while they are occupied we go in and steals there loot, what you say? Coming along?"
"Sure, oh yea are you Angela's parent?"
"Do I look like I'm married?" he glares at him for a while "Well I adopted her cause she was left in middle of battlefield 3 years ago, pitiful child her parents probably ran off leaving her along there but she’s a really nice girl"
Lucas fell asleep as he said the last word.
"Guess her magic makes him very sleepy, well I better prepare for tomorrow" He closes the curtains and puts two new dagger in his rucksack and walks out the room.
(A boy sitting in middle of the town under the street light with blood covered on one side of his face while holding a hand of some lady and cries, all around him was fire and dark. His eyes dark navy blue and his hair wild and black with hint of brown highlights. "Hey why are you alone and crying here? Come with me this place is too dangerous" the stranger holds out and hand "come gimmie your hand..." Around the corner came some soldiers and the guy took the boy and ran. "C-c-come along..." "His... p-p-pitiful child..." "We...c-can't..." "Don't ... " "Hey wake up, wake up")
Lucas opens his eyes and sees tears falling down from his eyes.
"Sorry to wake you, you okay?" asked Markus as he wipes his eyes.
"Everyone’s waiting for you outside, we heading to palace so be prepare." he left the room, Lucas picks up his rucksack and noticed two new daggers was placed in it and he doubled check to see if the gem was still in his pocket and headed down stairs and outside to the front door.
"Took you long enough" sighed Julian "okay lets go!"
"Where’s Angela?" asked Lucas "I didn't see her when i left the house"
"She’s at Cosnovi Sennaro place, over next to weapon store" replied Carlos "She’s a dear friend of mine"
"Okay okay, Enough Chitchat lets go!" Julian said grumpily "I'm out of patience with you guys"
"Relax boss" said Markus as he turns and walks off
"HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU NOT TO TELL ME TO RELAX!" Screamed Julian and those who walks by stares at him and small talk behind his back
"^%$& these people" muttered Julian as he starts walking off with the others
In the night sky at the foot of Lington castle Lucas and his party stood under the trees at back of the castle away from sight of Airships that patrolling the skies and soldiers that stands guard from the castle walls. They climbed down to sewage and make there way towards the basement of the storage room, following the map that Julian holds.
"You sure that map is reliable?" whispered Lucas watching back and forth to make sure no one was following
"Of cause its reliable! You can trust Baku the owner of shield shop, he wouldn't rip me off plus his a dear friend of mine" answered Julian "He used to work for the house of Cenaria before 'they' invaded it."
"Its weird he doesn't know much of disappearance of the royal family" added Markus "and strangest thing is he lost one leg and one eye yet he doesn't know what happened"
"Yea his the only survivor all the rest where killed off, don't think anyone is luckier then him" said Julian as they reached the storage room they checked if there was anyone in it and moves out.
Lucas drowned in deep thoughts and tries find answers of what happened 3 years back then, he couldn't remember much about what happened either and he thinks its got to be more then just a war that dominate over countries to control it. The more he tries to think of his past the more headache he gets "okay enough, no point of trying to remember now" he told himself. Carlos took out some smoke grenades and gave everyone some.
"Use it if you’re in trouble and flee" he whispered. "Markus, your going to east tower be our sniper, rest of us will go towards the treasure room which is located next to the hall of the upper mansion."
They look at the map and head out, Markus ran towards the east tower while rest ran across the garden through the trees, hidden in darkness. They reached the back entrance of the castle, Lucas charges at the guard on right and threw a pedal at him, he dodges and drew his sword but Lucas jumped onto his hand pushes his sword back into the scabbard and hits his head hard then flip kick his face into the wall while Julian slammed his rune blade onto the other guard face with the flat side of his sword and checks if his still alive. They drag those two guards into the bush and Julian muttered to himself "good night suckers". They raced up two flights of stares and down the hall, dodging pass any guards that they see then up towards the treasure room.
"I'll watch from out here while you guys take the loot" whispered Lucas.
As he stands watch, he watches the party that is going on in middle of hall towards ground level. There were so many people who are high-ranked officers and generals. He heard foot steps that came from the entrance of stairs and he hid himself behind the wall. As they walked closer Lucas couldn't take the risk of getting caught so he climbed onto the certain that was behind him. As they walked pass he could see a beautiful young lady that been chained with two guards holding her tightly. Then the entire sudden big explosion sounded from every corner of the castle, he fell down as it shook so hard.
"Arh" the girl cried as she pushes one guard over the edge and she fell over the edge grabbing on to what ever she can. With haste Lucas kicked the other guard over and grabs her hand.
"Hang on!" he said as he tries to push her up.
Another explosion exploded in the treasure as it shook Lucas hand slipped and almost dropping the young lady. "Oh no, Julian and Carlos!" he thought as he pushes up her up guards came running up the stairs.
"Ah, thank you..."
"Well well well, what we have here" said a voice to his left and 5 guards standing with there rifle in there face. "Chain em up! Throw him into the dungeon and as for girl she’s coming with me"
"YES SIR!" The soldiers ran towards Lucas, but he got up and ran but as he turned around he saw the Guy right in his face, with red hair going down to his shoulder and spiked up at front. Lucas looked into his eyes, its as red as blood with single moment he fainted.
